INCINERATOR ORAL HEARING SCHEDULED FOR END OF APRIL

An Bord Pleanala have today notified relevant parties that they have decided to hold an Oral Hearing in relation to the Ringaskiddy Incinerators. The Oral Hearing is scheduled to start on Monday 27th April, 2009, and will be held at Cork Airport Hotel.

An Bord Pleanala received 284 submissions with regard to the proposal to build hazardous and municipal waste incinerators at Ringaskiddy, Co Cork.

In addition to submissions from the surrounding communities, submissions from the Department of Environment, Cork Co Council, Cork City Council, numerous local politicians, as well as medical, leisure, tourist and farming/food interests were received. None of these supported the proposal, and no submissions in support of the proposal were submitted by local industry.
