CHASE Press Release - 20 April, 2010 Flooding on the Ringaskiddy peninsula this morning blocked car access to the Naval Base at Haulbowline Island, necessitating the ferrying by truck of naval personnel to Haulbowline Island. The flooding, caused by a broken water main,
resulted in over 180 cars being stranded on the road beside the proposed
Indaver Incinerator site. The entire length and over half the width
of the proposed site is currently submerged. Cork County Council are currently working
