PRESS RELEASE - January 18, 2005

OPPOSITION TO LEAVE APPLICATION DROPPED as
HIGH COURT DATE FOR JUDICIAL REVIEW APPLICATION FINALLY FIXED
_________________________________________

The High Court have fixed next Monday 24th January for an application for leave to seek judicial review of planning permission for a toxic incinerator in Ringaskiddy.

In a significant development in Court yesterday morning (Jan 17), Counsel for the State, An Bord Pleanala and Indaver said their clients were no longer opposing the leave application brought by eleven Cork Harbour residents and the Ringaskiddy and District Residents’ Association Ltd. The leave application will therefore proceed unopposed next Monday.

CHASE Chairperson, Mary O’Leary said: “We along with tens of thousands of people right around Cork Harbour continue to support the residents’ case and we are delighted with today’s development.”
