CHASE Press Release - 13-05-09 A survey carried put by Cork Auctioneer Mr. Andrew Moore of Andrew Moore and Associates,confirms that house prices will be negatively effected by the development of two proposed incinerators at Ringaskiddy. A survey was carried out by Mr Moore on fourteen auctioneering firms. They were asked if in their opinion as valuers, they believed that the proposal " would impact on property values" within the greater Cork area. 100% of those surveyed felt that the proposal would have a negative impact on property values and that they would not choose to live within sight of the proposed development. Ms Hazel McCarthy of Fenton Simons Planning and Development Consultants confirmed that the proposed development is in conflict with County Development Plan, The Cork Area Strategic Plan and the Cork County Waste management Plan In his evidence to the hearing Mr Roderick Hogan of Hogan Associates quoted from the Cork Area Strategic Plan; "The Natural environment and in particular the spectacular harbour area are without comparison elsewhere in Europe.
