CHASE Press Release - 06-05-09 At todays Oral Hearing Cork County Council's County Architect, Sean McLoughlin, and Cork County Council's Acting Senior Engineer, Nicholas Bond, made presentations. County Architect, Sean McLoughlin outlined his concerns at the visual impact of the proposed incinerator at todays Oral Hearing into the Ringaskiddy Incinerator. Mr McLoughlin stated that the Incinerator would be the first experience of people entering Cork Harbour by ship, and was the height of a 14 storey building. He stated that a building is to high when it dominates the landscape and said that: • The building, standing at 48.5m would
be far higher than all the other industrial buildings Also speaking was Nicholas Bond, Acting Senior
Engineer, Waste Section of Cork County Council Environment Directorate.
Mr Bond comprehensively detailed Cork County Council's Waste Management
Strategy, which does not include incineration, and stated that Cork
County Council is confident that it is currently on target to meet
